“ കൊതിയനിലെക്കുപോയി, ഇനിക്കു നിലത്തുതാ”
English Translation:
“Serve the greedy man’s portion on a banana leaf, but pour mine right on the floor.” (Feigning deep humility while shamelessly competing for the exact same handouts.)

“ കമ്പിളിക്കുണ്ടൊ കറ”
English Translation:
Does a stain ever show on a coarse black blanket? (Those of thick skin, base standing, or already tarnished reputation are indifferent to stains on honor.)

“ അരിയിട്ടും വെച്ചു ഉമിക്കു പിണങ്ങുക”
English Translation:
Cooking the rice for someone, then picking a bitter quarrel over the worthless chaff. (Doing a major kindness, only to ruin it by squabbling over petty trifles.)
